Isabella takes her greatest inspiration from her grandmother, who is a designer like herself. The purpose of the fashion shows was to emphasize the importance of greater acceptance of the disabled in society and it was aimed to change the understanding of beauty. With the message “Our disabilities do not limit us”, fashion shows in which disabled people were models were held. She has exhibited her work in London, Rome and Mexico. Later, she started to rise in her career and received offers from different parts of the world. The name of her collection was “Love and Peace”. She held her first fashion show at London Fashion Week and became the first designer with Down syndrome at the fashion week. Her work attracted the attention of the fashion world and she succeeded in exhibiting her designs in front of well-known fashion commentators around the world. These creative fabrics of Isabella also attracted a lot of attention. I also love Guatemalan patterns with different colors and textures.” She said. That’s why I decided to design clothes that would be perfect for people with Down syndrome. That’s why my mom always has to fix my clothes for me. And then she decided to produce clothes for people with down syndrome. Later on, she started to produce clothes for people. She first designed life-size dolls and then sewed clothes for life-size dolls. Isabella, on the other hand, did not want to sew clothes in small sizes. In this tutorial, Isabella was asked to prepare clothes for dolls. However, she never gave up on her dream.Īfter Isabella was turned away from schools, she enrolled in a sewing course and began training. However, these schools saw down syndrome as a handicap and Isabella’s applications were rejected. She applied to schools in her country, Guatemala, to realize her dreams and study fashion design. She started designing clothes for dolls when she was just 6 years old and decided to become a designer at a very young age.
